The Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman team swept all the first-places in their home opener on Tuesday, a five-team Northwest Suburban Conference meet at Woodland Trails.

The Elk boys and girls teams each outraced Anoka, Blaine, Coon Rapids and Maple Grove in a skate format.

The Elks had both individual leaders, too, as senior Joey Martin was first in the boys race by 30 seconds and Reece Hickman first in the girls race by 35 seconds with senior Brittany Dorn second.

The Elks will host their seventh annual Skinny Santa event today (Saturday) beginning 10 a.m. at Woodland Trails. This is both a fundraiser and a citizens race.
