Hockey: Totino-Grace topples Royal boys 3-0

The Rogers Royals are no longer unbeaten as they fell to Totino-Grace 3-0 Tuesday evening in Rogers, despite a big edge in shots on goal.

The Eagles (3-4-1) got a goal from Blake Vagle in the first period, and took the 1-0 lead into the third period, when they got two more goals while being outshot 16-4. Andrew Schneider scored at 3:03 and Kai Barber at 15:25.

Rogers (5-1-1) had a 34-16 edge in shots but Eagle goalie Dominic Whippler allowed none past him. Rogers’ Jackson Nelson made 13 stops.

Rogers will host Little Falls on Thursday.
