Basketball: Thunder girls drub Little Falls 72-35

The Zimmerman Thunder raced to a 72-35 win over Little Falls at home Tuesday evening.

Senior guard Lexi Funaro led with 21 points. Cami Bond chipped in 11 and Jami Schuster nine.

The Thunder (1-1 conference, 4-2 overall) put good defensive pressure on the Flyers and (1-2, 1-5) and played well in most phases of the game, said coach Lance Dalbey.

The only downsides were poor free throw shooting (12-for-27) and committing too many fouls (27). Two starters fouled out early and the Flyers shot 35 free throws although they made only 18.

The Thunder will host Monticello on Thursday evening.
