Basketball: Thunder girls fall to red-hot Albany 71-52

The Albany Huskies made the Zimmerman Thunder their fourth straight lopsided conquest 71-52 Friday evening in Zimmerman.

The Thunder were 3-1 coming into their conference opener, but Albany took charge right from the start, led by senior guard Amazih Eckhoff with 18 points and freshman center Erin Navratil with 13 points.

Lexi Funaro netted 13 points, Abbi Wisness nine and Jamie Schuster eight for the Thunder.

Albany won its first three games by 28, 44 and 36 points, so the Thunder were actually their closest game so far with a 19-point margin.

Zimmerman will host Little Falls on Tuesday.
