Elk River Mayor John Dietz has been visiting with area residents on the first Saturday of the month ever since he took office three years ago.
The monthly get-together happens from 9 to 10 a.m. at the American Legion Club, 525 Railroad Dr., Elk River.
Beginning in January Dietz will share the stage with Sherburne County Commissioner Bruce Anderson of Elk River. The two will be on a rotating schedule with Anderson taking the first Saturday of January and Dietz the first Saturday in February. The two will continue to alternate months throughout the year.
“My goal is to represent my constituents and advocate for their interests,” Anderson said. “To achieve that goal, I need to be accessible to the public and hear what is on their minds.”
“Bruce and I are very good friends and we both represent the people of Elk River,” Dietz said. “I am more than willing to share this resident forum with him so that questions about county and city government can be answered. Bruce and I talk often and we share a common interest to be available for the citizens of Elk River.’
The monthly event will be called “Saturday Citizen Forum.”
