The Elk River wrestlers had two champions, Kyle Ziemer and Sam Gibas, while placing second at the St. Michael-Albertville Invitational on Saturday.
STMA won with 242 points, followed by the Elks with 163 and Forest Lake with 137.
Ziemer, a sophomore, pinned Jack Mueller of Tri City United in 3:24 in the 138-pound title match, after reaching finals with a pin of STMA’s Jeff Geiger and 3-2 decision over Forest Lake’s Sam Finch.
Gibas, a freshman, pulled out three close decisions to earn the 152-pound title: 4-3 over Max Arroya (unattached), 3-1 over Talon Juusola (unattached) and 7-5 over Tri City United’s Mason Rutt.
Garrett Caldon and Bobby Schmitz were runners-up.
Caldon, a junior, reached the finals with two pins, then lost to Jake Allar of Benilde-St. Margaret 9-5 in the finals at 120 pounds.
Schmitz, a junior, had a pin and 8-0 decision, then lost by pin in 5:11 to Christian DuLaney of Benilde-St. Margaret.
The Elks will wrestle at Robbinsdale Armstrong on Thursday.
