Kristian Bright with 35 points as the Zimmerman Thunder used free-throw accuracy to defeat the Becker Bulldogs 70-62 on Friday evening.

The Thunder cashed 22 of 26 free shots in the second half, with Bright 13-for-16, Mac McNulty 6-for-6 and Derek Williams 3-for-4. McNulty had 8 points, Taylor McEachern, and Tyler Theisen and Williams 6 each.

Zimmerman (1-1 conference, 3-2 overall) controlled the ball and forced the Bulldogs to play defense for extended periods, leading to getting good looks at the basket. The Thunder got into the bonus with 9:07 left and concentrated on going to the hoop to draw fouls, usually with Bright, a 6-4 senior forward. Becker never got into the bonus.

Zimmerman will host Mora on Tuesday.
