Basketball: Elk boys are 3-0 after beating Anoka 72-47

The Elk River Elks dominated the second half and defeated the Anoka Tornadoes 72-47 on Thursday evening in Anoka.

Clay Elrod scored 24 points and Matt Keller 13 for the Elks, who stayed unbeaten at 3-0.

The Elks led by just 24-21 at the half but outscored the host 48-26 in the second half when they controlled the rebounds 23-9.

The Elks enjoyed a big edge in shooting as they hit 26 of 49 (53 percent) including 10 of 21 from 3-point range. Anoka made just 14-for-51.

The Elks will host Blaine on Tuesday.
