Basketball: Bright leads Thunder boys over Rocori 67-47

Kristian Bright had the hot hand with 23 points as the Zimmerman Thunder downed the Rocori Spartans 67-47 at home Thursday evening.

The senior forward shot 9-for-12 from the field, including one resounding dunk on a breakaway, and 4-for-4 at the line while grabbing 8 rebounds.

Max McNulty and Taylor Theisen each scored 14 points and each hit two 3-pointers as the Thunder had a good game from long range at 6-for-14. McNulty nabbed 6 rebounds.

The Thunder displayed solid defense, giving up few easy shots, alone with patience on the offensive end. They led 10-2 at the outset and 33-18 at halftime.

Zimmerman is 2-2 while Rocori dropped to 0-4. The Thunder will play again Friday night, at Becker.
