Basketball: Sting beat Hope Academy 59-21 in opener

The Spectrum Sting girls beat Hope Academy 59-21 at home in their opener Monday evening,

Senior guard Rachel Stevenson sank 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and sophomore post Noelle Diekman added 15 points.

“The Sting played solid on both ends of the court,” said coach Lenny Sedlock, “and moved the ball very well to get great open looks.”

Brynn Bozich had 8 points, Kassidi Robbins 6, Lorna Bechtel 4, Katelyn Bozich 4, and Emily Brueckner 4. Rachel Goldsmith sparked the defense with multiple steals.

The Sting will travel to Minneapolis on Tuesday evening to play a 4A school , Minneapolis South, at 7 p.m.
