Nine ERHS musicians participate in college honor band festivals

Nine Elk River High School band members have participated in recent Honor Band festivals at three colleges. Their director is John Rosner.

At Minnesota-Duluth, Rosemary Hamption, Carter Schunk, and Alexis MacArther were chosen for the Gold (top) Band. Also among 200 musicians from 40 schools were Jake Griffiths, Zach Griffiths, Kory Esterberg, and Ivana Arrington. Their guest conductor was Dario Sotelo of Brazil.

At St. Thomas University, ERHS participants were Emily Sederstrom, Schunk, and Hampton performed under British conductor Keith Allen of Birmingham Symphonic Winds. They were chosen for Honor Symphonic Band, higher level of two bands.

At St. Olaf College, ERHS participants were Sederstrom and Katie Gingrass, both qualifying for premier honor band. A day of clinics and rehearsals were concluded with a concert on campus.
