Serious injuries avoided in a.m. crash on Highway 169

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to and investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on Highway 169 near 237th Avenue Northwest on Friday morning.

Both vehicles had been southbound on Highway 169 at about 6:20 a.m. on Nov. 22 when the driver of one vehicle, Brenda Casey, a 47-year-old Zimmerman woman struck another vehicle from behind.

That vehicle was driven by Justin Severson, a 35-year-old Elk River man.

When struck, Severson’s vehicle ran off the road into the median and struck the cable barrier.

No life-threatening injuries were reported. Casey was cited for inattentive driving, according to a spokesperson with the State Patrol.
