The Sherburne County Board of Commissioners met in a Workshop Session on November 12, 2013 at the Sherburne County Government Center in the City of Elk River with all Commissioners present. Call to order by the Chair was at 11:50 a.m.
By consensus, the Board approved the Workshop Agenda for November 12, 2013 as presented.
Discussion was held regarding RiverRider. Commissioner Leonard provided information concerning the current organization as a Joint Powers with Wright County and reviewed operations and service. The Board discussed the following information: Opportunity to merge RiverRider with the St. Cloud Tri-County Action Programs (Tri-CAP); The move to regionalization of transportation and potential for more funding opportunities; Capability to expand service by merging with Tri-CAP; Discussions with Wright County; Providing the required notice of dissolution of the Joint Powers according to the Agreement and to allow for a smooth transition for all involved. The County Board directed staff to prepare a notice of dissolution of the Joint Powers Agreement with Wright County and to provide a plan for an orderly transition for all involved for approval at a future Board meeting.
