Police report: Heroin case sends man to hospital — twice

An 18-year-old Elk River man believed to have overdosed on heroin was transported to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids — twice.

Elk River Police and Ambulance were called at 11:25 p.m. on Nov. 1 to a home in the 13000 block of 196th Avenue on a report of a male unresponsive and not breathing due to a possible drug overdose.

Upon arrival the male was breathing and had reportedly used heroin. He was transported to Mercy Hospital. So was a 19-year-old male who showed signs of recent heroin use.

Elk River Police was called out about 10 a.m. Nov. 2 to the 19000 block of Irving Street after the same 18-year-old Elk River man as in the previous report was said to be unresponsive again.

Police gave the patient oxygen until a Centra Care Ambulance arrived and transported the young man to Mercy Hospital.


Counterfeit bills passed at Walmart

Elk River Police took a report Nov. 3 of a customer paying for merchandise with five counterfeit $20 bills at the Elk River Walmart. The suspect reportedly left in a white four-door passenger car.


Anoka woman,        twin teens arrested

A 29-year-old Anoka woman was arrested for theft after she and two twin 15-year-olds from Spring Lake Park attempted on Nov. 3 to steal nearly $600 in merchandise from Walmart.

The adult female was transported to jail. A juvenile male and female, who will be charged, were released to an adult with the mother’s approval.


Ramsey man, 22,   cited for DWI

A 22-year-old Ramsey man was arrested Nov. 1 for DWI after an officer on patrol observed the driver fail to signal a right turn onto eastbound 193rd Avenue from Evans Street and again from Eastbound 193rd Avenue to Northbound Auburn Street.


Texas Ranger           told to move along 

Officers responded to a report of a disorderly male dressed as a “Texas Ranger” on Halloween at Time Out Bar. The 28-year-old Albany man was upset that he had been ejected from the bar.

The male was located and identified. After a short discussion, the male agreed to walk to Perkins and left the property. He was warned not to return that night.


Elk River garage        reportedly burglarized 

A 30-year-old Elk River woman reported on Oct. 31 that someone entered her garage unit in the 300 block of Baldwin Avenue and entered her unlocked vehicle and stole electronic items. Taken was an amplifier, speakers and other miscellaneous items from her vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry into the garage or the car.


Illicit photos found on phone held by student 

An Elk River High School assistant principal reported on Oct. 31 nude photos were located on a juvenile’s phone.

It turns out the owner of the phone had borrowed the phone to another juvenile student. The victim’s guardians said they were not interested in pursuing charges.


Boy, 16, cited for      possession of pot 

A 16-year-old Elk River boy was cited Oct. 31 for possession of marijuana at Elk River High School.


Suspicious man found on deck in Elk River 

A 53-year-old Elk River man called police Oct. 30 regarding a suspicious person on his deck in the 11000 block of Highland Road.

It was determined that the intoxicated 51-year-old Elk River man lived across the street. He was escorted home and released to the care of a woman at the residence. A small amount of marijuana was located on the male party; it was confiscated and later destroyed.

Police made contact with complainant, who stated same male party entered his house three weeks ago while intoxicated, thinking it was his house. Officer advised complainant to report any future activity.


Theft of ‘Salisbury’   bag taken from car 

A 50-year-old Elk River man reported Oct. 28 items were removed from a vehicle at his residence in the 21000 block of Brook Road. Complainant reported that an orange duffel bag with “Salisbury” embroidered on it was taken from the listed location sometime between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 28.
