The Zimmerman Thunder’s first three state cross country qualifiers had respectable showings on Saturday, and all three are underclassmen with a chance to return.

Nicole Jurik, a junior, placed 108th in 15:47.8, in Class AA girls at St. Olaf College in Northfied.

Connor Gagne placed 126th with 17:20.5 and Jordan Jeandron was 156th with 17:48.7 in the boys race. Both are sophomores in a sport where seniors and juniors are usually the leaders on the boys side.

In each division, there were 174 runners counting team and individual qualifiers.
