Swimming: Elks top Blaine 99-87 in third-place match

Taylor Odegard and Jessica Young each had four first-places as the Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman swimmers beat Blaine 99-87 in the Northwest Suburban Conference third-place match on Tuesday in Blaine.

The Elks and Bengals were runners-up in their respective divisions so they got an extra dual meet on the schedule for third place. The Elks finished dual meets with a 6-5 record.

Odegard won the 50 and 100 freestyles and Young took the individual medley and 500 freestyle. Each also helped two relays win as the Elks swept the relays. Anya Larson won butterfly for the Elks.
