Volleyball: Elks win two, lose three at STMA tournament

Elk River volleyball won two of five matches at the two-day, 32-team St. Michael-Albertville tournament.

On Friday, the Elks beat Simley 25-17, 25-19, then lost to Waconia 25-22, 25-18.

On Saturday, the Elk lost to Hutchinson 26-24, 25-12, then beat Rogers 25-12, 26-24, and closed with a loss to Wayzata, 25-8, 21-25, 15-4.

Sidney Wentland knocked down 18 kills, Kelly Kolles 17 and Abi Scheid 15 in the tournament.

The Elks (10-15) will host Maple Grove on Tuesday.
