Volleyball: Elks squeeze past Park Center 3-1

The Elk River Elks pulled out two overtime games and beat Park Center 27-25, 16-25, 25-12, 26-24 on Thursday evening in Brooklyn Center.

Geneva Kachinske made 10 kills, Kennedy Strain 8, and Sidney Wentland, Kelly Kolles and Kelsey Owens 7 each.

Becca Brummer served 20-for-20 with four aces, and Kaitlyn Pearson 19-for-19 with three aces. Brummer led with 25 digs and Owens made 35 assists.

Bethany Lovhaug knocked down 21 kills and J.Velandeer 15 for Park Center (2-7 conference, 9-11 overall).

The Elks (3-6 conference, 8-13 overall) will play in the St. Michel-Albertville tournament on Friday evening, starting with Waconia at 5 p.m., and Saturday.
