Swimming: Centennial rules the pool vs. Elks

The Centennial Cougars defeated Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman 108-76 in the Elks home finale on Tuesday evening, winning 10 of 12 events at the Elks pool.

Taylor Odegard in the 50 and 100 free was the lone Elk  to place first.

“It was senior night. There was a lot of smiles and tears,” said coach Luke Johnson. “We had pictures on Monday, which took up our practice time.”

The Elks (4-3 conference, 4-4 overall) will finish conference at Robbinsdale Armstrong on Thursday, then compete in true-team sectionals on Saturday at St. Cloud Tech.

“Today we had practice before the meet,” said Johnson. “We have started our speed portion of our season plan. With Armstrong and true team sections we will have opportunity to display some speed.”
