Volleyball: Armstrong tips Elks in five games

Playing their second five-game match at home in three days, the Elk River Elks lost one this time, falling to Robbinsdale Armstrong. The Falcons prevailed 27-29, 25-21, 25-20, 18-25,15-8.

Sidney Wentland and Kelly Kolles made 12 kills each for the Elks and Geneva Kachinske and Gina Honek nine each, with Kelsey Owens providing 49 assists. The Elks were limited to six aces while serving 93 of 104. Becca Brummer led with 21 digs and 19 serve receives.

The Elks, who beat Andover 3-2 on Tuesday, are 2-5 in conference and 7-12 overall. Armstrong is 4-2 and 9-8-5.

Next for the Elks is Blaine there Tuesday.
