The Rogers Royals opened playoffs with a 5-1 win over Osseo that was shortened by rain at home on Wednesday.

The Royals, 14-4 and seeded No. 4 in Section 5AA, are scheduled to host Maple Grove on Thursday. With rain in the forecast, the makeup date will be Friday.

The Royal No. 1 singles team of Julia Sporer and Rachel Dodd remained unbeaten at 19-0. Their No. 2  team of Dhriti Jagannathan and Kianna Koeppe improved to 14-4. Coach Deb Conley said the Royals would enter both those teams intact in section individuals rather than move singles players to doubles as many teams do.
