Cross country: Rogers boys 8th in Griak gold race

The Rogers boys team placed eighth among 60 teams in the Maroon division of the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday.

Reed Parent led the Royals, placing eighth in a time of 16:45 at the University of Minnesota. Tyler Bethke was 74th (17:59), Caleb Burke 83rd (18:07), Carl Parent 106th (18:16) and Karl Gorecki 124th (18:27).

Maroon is the second-tier division in this multiple state event. The top two teams were Minneapolis Washburn and Minneapolis Southwest.

The top teams run in the Gold Division.

Royal girls 21st

The Rogers girls were 21st among 49 teams in the Maroon Division. Jackie Lindfors placed 46th (21:06), Madie Mikolich 102n (21:46), Jenna Karls 132nd (22:04), Hannah Teasdale 150th (22:16), and Dacada Speidel 151st (22:16).
