Cross country: Elk girls 21st in gold division at Griak Invitational

The Elk River girls placed 21st of 50 teams in the Gold Division at the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday.

The Gold Division is the upper-tier teams in the multiple-state meet at the University of Minnesota Golf Course. There’s also a Maroon division.

Rachel Ness of the Elks placed 56th (19:58), Annica Carr 80th (20:19), Kennedy Warner 91st (20:23), Maria Brown 132nd (20:51) and Kari Radke 187th (21:24).

Wayzata won the meet. Other Minnesota teams in the top ten were Edina in sixth place and Forest Lake in ninth. Wayzata’s Anna French took second in 17:59 behind Jordyn Colter of Cherry Creek (state not provided) in 17:47.
