The Elk River girls pushed above .500 with a 2-0 victory over the Osseo Orioles in Osseo on Thursday evening.
Toni Bailey scored on a header off a corner kick from Shayne Schoenfelder in the 15th minute. The score remained 1-0 until the 65th minute when Logan Daulton made a tap-in off a ball played by Madison St. Germain.
“I would rate it a solid effort by our team, and it was our second shutout in a row,” said coach Brian Steuter, adding that the Elks had to do some shuffling with the absence of midfielders Erin Ness (concussion) and Lexi Deitl (ill).
The Elks, who beat Park Center 3-0 at home Tuesday, are 3-2-1 in the NWSC and 5-4-1 overall. Osseo dropped to 0-5-2 and 0-7-2.
Armstrong will play at Elk River on Tuesday.
