Volleyball: Champlin Park tops Elks 3-0

Champlin Park handed Elk River a 25-12, 25-22, 25-20 loss on the Elks court on Thursday evening.

The Elks, after getting drubbed in game one, got an attack going and held the lead late in the next two games.

But the Rebels (4-1) regained control each time after the score got into the 20’s.  Mariya Sampson’s powerful attacks were the Rebels’ best weapon.

For the Elks (0-6), Sydney Wentland knocked down 12 kills, Abi Scheid seven and Kelly Kolles five. Kelsey Owens made 28 assists and served 10-for-10 with three aces.

The Elks will play at the Sauk Rapids-Rice tournament on Saturday.
