Elk River was dislodged from a first-place tie in conference when the Andover Huskies beat them 5-2 on Thursday in Andover.
The Elks got wins from Annika Teske and Jen Koehler at two and three singles, but Andover took the other five points, four of them in the third set.
The Elks are now 6-1 in the NWSC and 8-3 overall. Andover also has just one conference loss, against Coon Rapids, a team the Elks beat.
Both still have to play defending champion Centennial, which was unbeaten in conference going into a match with Coon Rapids on Thursday evening.
Next for the Elks is the Eagan tournament on Saturday.
