Soccer: Royal boys tip Saints 2-1 in overtime in Steeves goal

An overtime goal by Mitch Steeves gave the Rogers Royals a 2-1 win over the St. Francis Saints on Thursday at St. Francis.

Steeves scored early in the first off two five-minute overtimes off a cross pass from Alfonso Tolbert.

Rogers is 2-0 in the Mississippi 8 after going 0-5 before conference play. They beat Monticello 6-0 on Tuesday.

St. Francis scored first, on a corner kick. Nahome Biniam did the score with a goal off a through ball from Isaac Aanerud. The score was 1-1 at halftime.

Rogers will play at Grand Rapids on Friday.
