A taco dinner benefit will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Central Lutheran Church, 1103 School St., Elk River for Linda Sklenicka. Tickets are $8 for adults, $3 for ages 5-17 and free for under age 5. The night will also include a silent auction and entertainment.
Linda was diagnosed with ankolysing spondylitis in October 2001. AS is a chronic disease that involves inflammation of the joints between the spinal bones and pelvis. The joints become swollen and inflamed, and over time the bones join together like a bamboo stick. While in Utah, Sklenicka met Dr. Adelson from the Docere Clinics who shared with her that he has a procedure that can and has helped people with AS. The procedure is not covered under insurance. This benefit is to help with her expenses.
