Skrove, a senior at Zimmerman High School, was officially diagnosed with osteosarcoma on Sept. 18, 2012. Due to the size of the tumor and the damage already done to the bone and muscles, he had his right lower leg amputated in December. He has just completed a 40-week course of chemotherapy treatment, as well as surgery to correct some issues before getting a prosthetic leg. There are cancer-related expenses already accumulated and more to come.
