Motorcycle crash claims Elk River man, injures woman

A 52-year-old Elk River man has died as a result of injuries sustained in an Aug. 17 motorcycle crash in Silver Creek Township, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, being driven by Randal Alan Stevens, 52, of Elk River was eastbound at about 6 p.m. on County Road 123 in Wright County when it failed to negotiate a curve in the road near the intersection of Duffield Avenue  and went off the road into the ditch, ejecting the driver and a passenger.

Stevens was transported from the scene by Maple Lake Ambulance to Allina Hospital in Buffalo. Stevens was later transferred to North Memorial Hospital where he died.

The passenger, Rebecca Marie LuAllen, 53, of Elk River was transported to St Cloud Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.

Neither subject was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
