On behalf of the city of Elk River and the Public Works and Parks Maintenance divisions, I wish to offer my most sincere thanks to The Bank of Elk River, Cub Foods, Von Hanson’s Meats, Steve’s Elk River Nursery and the Elk River Police Department Reserves, for their generous support of our Maintenance Facility Open House. I also wish to thank the very talented Benny James who entertained visitors with his wonderful music.
Over 500 residents, neighbors and guests visited the open house on July 31 to tour the new facility, watch equipment demonstrations and visit with the men and women that plow and repair our streets, manicure our parks and trails and maintain our fleet and facilities.
The open house not only allowed visitors to see our newest facility, it provided an opportunity to learn about city programs and services. Thank you to the many visitors that brought nonperishable food items. Five full bins of food for were collected and donated to the Community Aid Elk River program.
Thanks again to event sponsors, city staff and visitors for making this a very successful celebration through your generous support. — John Dietz, Elk River (Editor’s note: Dietz is the mayor of the city of Elk River)
