More than 300 youth took part this week in the first communitywide Bible camp at Lion’s Park in Elk River. Area churches collaborated to put on the weeklong evening program.

Six area churches — River of Life, Central Lutheran Church, Church of Hope, Twin Lakes Christian and Glory of Christ Fellowship of Elk River as well as Christ Church in Otsego — collaborated to make the free vacation bible school available to kids across the community.

Stories of children who live in nearby apartments seeing the activity and urging their parents to sign them up warmed the hearts of the directors of children’s and family ministries who pulled the God in Action program together.
