The city of Elk River is beginning the process of updating its 2004 comprehensive plan, and an open house is set from 4-7 p.m. July 24.
The updated plan will guide future growth, redevelopment and improvements efforts. It will provide a framework used by city officials in making public policy, land use and many public expenditure decisions.
The open house is a chance for people to provide input about what they want out of the city and what ideas they have for the community. The open house will be held at Elk River City Hall, 13065 Orono Parkway.
A survey is also online at www.ElkRiverMN.gov/polls.aspx.
