A 35-year-old St. Paul man who crashed his vehicle in Elk River and then allegedly tried to flee on foot was stopped by an off-duty Douglas County deputy near the scene, according to Elk River Police Capt. Bob Kluntz.
Three occupants of the vehicle were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. The driver faces a DWI charge, Kluntz said.
Police had responded to the report of a rollover accident east of Main Street on Highway 10 at 1:49 p.m. June 23.
Burglar enters an unoccupied home
Several tools are missing after someone entered a home and pole shed in Elk River.
The home, located in the 21000 block of Meadowvale Road, is for sale and unoccupied, according to the police report.
The burglary was reported to Elk River Police at 12:33 p.m. June 23.

Elk River Police were called to check on a woman in a vehicle after she reportedly appeared to be “huffing” something and possibly having a seizure.
Police found the 57-year-old Ramsey woman in her vehicle in the Home Depot parking lot.
The woman was confused, Kluntz said, and when officers asked her for her license she handed them a cake mix and a container of frosting.
She was transported to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
Police had been alerted at 4:27 p.m. June 24.
Man arrested after headlock incident
A 25-year-old Elk River man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and placed her in a headlock, choking her, according to Kluntz.
Police were called to the alleged assault in the 1100 block of School Street at 9:10 a.m. June 21.
Multi-vehicle crash ends with DWI arrest
A multi-vehicle crash was reported at 10:41 p.m. June 25 at 193rd Avenue and Highway 169 in Elk River.
A Coon Rapids man, 52, was arrested for DWI, Kluntz said.
Man mowing his lawn finds stolen wallet
A wallet was reunited with its owner after it was found by a homeowner mowing his lawn in Elk River on June 24. The wallet had been stolen earlier from an unlocked vehicle. The wallet’s owner reported that $15 was missing.
