Baseball: Elk Legion falls to Flyers 4-3 in 8 innings

Elk River Legion lost to Little Falls 4-3 in eight innings at home Monday evening.

The Flyers hit a pair of doubles off Jordan Hollom in the top of the eighth to take the lead.

The Elks had tied the score 3-3 on Sam Wirz’s triple in the last of the seventh that drove home Hollom, who had walked.

Joey Hudson pitched 5 2/3 innings for Elk River (6-3), giving up three runs and striking out five. Hollom took the loss, yielding one run in 2 1/3 innings, striking out two.

Elk River will host Cold Spring on Tuesday, 6:15 p.m.
