Golf: Rogers boys 8th at state tourney at midpoint; Rask holding 12th

The Rogers Royals had a rough first day at the state golf tournament Tuesday, placing eighth among eight teams. The final 18 holes will be held Wednesday morning at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.

Royal senior Morgan Rask, playing in his fourth state tournament, is tied for 12th place with 38-36-74.

Other Royal scores were Dylan Kline with 41-40-81, Kyle Korva with 44-39-83,  Rocky Nelson with 40-44-84,  Luke Bunkers with 45-42-87, and  Cruz Martinez with 43-44-87.

Wayzata is the team leader with 298, followed by Forest Lake 300, Eden Prairie 301, Lakeville North 307,  Hastings 309, White Bear Lake 313, Alexandria 315 and Rogers 322.

Winona’s William Leaf is the leader with 69, followed by Wayzata’s Jack Holmgren with  71.
