Tennis: Elk doubles team loses two, finishes fourth at state

The Elk River doubles team that won two matches Thursday in state competition lost twice on Friday and finished fourth in Class AA.

Elk senior Josh Chuba and sophomore Sam Gearou were stopped in the semifinals by Highland Parks Maalik Konop DeFreitas and Aren Wilson. The score was 7-5, 6-3.

In the third-place match, Jefferson’s Matt McNutt and Tim Larson beat the Elk duo 6-4, 6-4.
