Downtown bars have agreed to partner again to bring about a second annual pub crawl Saturday, June 29, for the benefit of the Elk River Independence Day celebration.
The crawl will kick off with registration at 2:30 p.m. at the Elk River American Legion before making its way to Sunshine Depot, McCoy’s Pub and the Eagles Club.
The Legion will be accepting a good faith offering/donation throughout the event. With a donation, participants are qualified for drink specials and a drawing for prizes, including a grand prize at each establishment. Participants must be present to win.
“This is a great opportunity to get out and meet people in your community, and also support the Fourth of July celebration,” said Mike Beyer of the Legion and a member of the Elk River Independence Day celebration. Registration will last from 2:30 and 3 p.m. The rest of the schedule, which allows 15 minutes between each stop for walking, is as follows:
•American Legion: 3 to 4 p.m.
•Sunshine Depot: 4:15 to 5:15 p.m.
•McCoy’s: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
•Eagles: 6:45 to 7:45 p.m.
The Elk River Independence Day celebration is from 4 to 10 p.m. on July 4 at Lions Park. The Shane Martin Band will headline the event, and The Wrong Omar Band with special guest Becky Shaheen leading up to Martin’s act. There will also be an Elk River Idol contest at 5 p.m. and program at 4 p.m. Fireworks will be at 10:15 p.m.
