ArtSoup, the arts festival sponsored by the Elk River Area Arts Alliance, will be held Saturday, June 15, downtown Elk River by the riverfront.
This is a free, family-friendly event, featuring art, live music, food, dance and theater. There will be art sales booths with painting, glass, jewelry, pottery and more.
A juried art show, and members’ art, are on display in the Arts Alliance Gallery at 609 Main St.
There will be tents offering children’s art activities and showcasing community groups.
Performers include Paul Imholtz, Jared Streifels, 450 Magnum, Land of Lakes Choir and more.
This activity is funded, in part, by a grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board, through appropriations from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the state’s general fund and its arts and cultural heritage fund.
Art will have a higher profile all summer long in downtown Elk River, thanks to the grand re-opening of the Elk River Arts Alliance and Reading Frenzy Book Corner. The two have teamed up to present Town Picnics and Author Grillings from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Thursdays when there is a Bank of Elk River-sponsored Concert in the Park at Rivers Edge Commons Park. The patio in front of the Arts Alliance, where the ArtSoup spoon is situated, is the site of the picnics.
