A trip to the state lacrosse tournament is one line when the Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman girls duel Maple Grove on Wednesday evening at Osseo High School.

The Section 8 title game is slated to start at 5 p.m.

ERZ (11-3) edged Maple Grove (11-4) in the season opener 12-11 in April 22 indoors at Maple Grove, rallying a 6-1 deficit.

Obviously this one rates as a tossup.

“It’s whoever shows up,” said ERZ coach Stephanie Anderson.

ERZ, the top seed, has beaten Anoka 17-13 and St. Michael-Albertville 13-11 to reach the finals. Maple Grove beat St. Cloud Area 18-10 and Becker 16-12.

This marks the first time ERZ has reached a section final.

The victor advances to the state tournament starting June 11 in Chaska and Chanhassen.
