Bob was born Feb. 21, 1951, in Mille Lacs to Luella (Holland) and Eugene. He worked on the family dairy farms in Thomson and Wrenshall until he was 19. He moved on to work for the Monticello Nuclear Plant, Northwestern Bell Telephone, Elk River Police Reserves, and retired as a Community Service Officer in 2011 after 23 years of service.
He met and married the “love of his life”, Jeanne Minks, on Sept. 9, 1972. Their union created two beautiful daughters, Lisa and Lori.
Bob loved his three girls and took great pride in them and all their accomplishments. His favorite pastime was fishing with his wife, children, grandchildren Damon, Jordyn and Garrett, and granddog Bella. He loved to read, play cards and do puzzles. His greatest regret was not being able to fish with granddaughters Harper and Hanna.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne, daughters Lisa (Doug) Fahey and Lori (Mike) Greenlun, father-in-law Richard Minks, brother-in-law Steven (Michelle ) Minks, brothers Ralph (Marie), David (Yvonne), Brian (Bobbie), Craig (Gloria), and Jeff (Debbie) Swenson and sisters Colleen (Chris) Peay and Darla Wojtysiak.
He was predeceased by his parents, mother-in-law Suzan, sisters-in-law Cynthia (Jeff) Wellman and Joni (Hoffman ) Minks, and brothers Norman (Terry) and Bruce (Marilyn) Swenson.
Bob will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on June 9, 2013, at First Baptist Church of St. Francis, 22940 St. Francis Blvd NW, St. Francis, MN 55070. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on June 10, 2013, at the same location, with Pastor Steve Brower officiating and a ceremony by the Elk River Police Department Honor Guard.
