“Everyone collectively is doing well,” said Mackenzie Perna, who led with six goals and three assists. “Our defensive side is looking great and the goalies are doing really good.”

ERZ (10-3) will have another home game in the semifinals Friday evening. The Star News does not know the opponent at this posting.

Emily Antony added four goals, Alleah Baltzer two, and Kelsie Baker, Annie Dalton, Alexandra Gallus, Michelle Klimstra, and Aliz Zierden one each.  In the nets, Kim Scott stopped four of 11 and Klimstra five of 11.

In past seasons, ERZ’s main playoff quest was to win one game before running into someone virtually unbeatable like Holy Family Catholic last year and Eden Prairie the year before. This year, ERZ is in a different section and have as good a chance as anyone to win it and go to state.

“It’s been a great season,” said coach Stephanie Anderson. “The girls are having fun.”
