Baseball: Royals lose to Centennial, season ends

The Rogers Royals season ended at Midway Stadium in St. Paul on Monday with a 10-3 loss to Centennial in the Section 5AAA tournament.

Centennial had 15 hits against three Royal pitchers – Adam Nauth, Luke Selkin and Peter Fehr — including a two-run homer by Adam Anderson.

Caleb Reese was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored for Rogers. Tyler Antony and Ryan Gelle also had a hit and RBI.

The Royals, who opened playoffs with a 3-2 win over Osseo, lost to Reggie Meyer and Totino-Grace 6-1 on Friday at Coon Rapids. Kyle Ellis pitched for the Royals (six runs, 3 2/3 innings). Their lone hit was a single by Bryanlee Santiago-Martinez in the first inning. He scored the lone run on an error.


Rogers finished with a 9-11 record.
