Lacrosse: ERZ girls clip Knights 24-12; head into sectional seeded first

Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman closed its regular season with a 24-12 win over the St. Michael-Albertville Knights on Friday evening. ERZ has also earned the top seed for sectionals starting Wednesday.

Once again the big one-two punch was Mackenzie Perna with seven goals and four assists, and Emily Antony with six goals and four assists.

Alix Zierden added four goals and Alleah Baltzer, Annie Dalton and Kaylee Forster two each. Michelle Klimstra had one.

In goal, Kim Scott stopped 11 of 18 shots, and Michelle Klimstra one of four.

ERZ (9-3) is seeded first among nine teams in Section 8. They will host Anoka or Buffalo on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. If they win, they would have another home game Friday.
