The Elk River Rotary 8th Annual Taste of Elk River attracted 950 guests who basked in comfortable weather and a new venue.

The club is already planning its next Taste for the Sherburne County Fairgrounds after judging this year’s affair a huge success.

“It was a fantastic Taste,” co-chair Nicole Rasmussen said Thursday at the club’s regular meeting Thursday 11:30 a.m. meeting at Pizza Ranch in Elk River.

Co-chair Brandon Hanson agreed. “For our first year working with the county, I feel like it was a huge success with huge potential to get even better.” he said.

This year’s signature sponsor was Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton and the Elk River Fairview Clinic. The platinum sponsor was Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. There were another 13 sponsors helping make the event possible.

Taste 2013 included a silent auction a wall of wine and a karaoke contest. There was also a vast array of food and beverage choices for guests.

The vendors raved about the turnout and the new location. Club members met this week to talk about ways the event could be tweaked to make it flow even better next year.

“I believe we can continue to make this the “must attend” event for years to come,” Rasmussen said.
