Class of 2013 and 2025 invited to breakfast

The Elk River Indpendence Day Committee is hosting a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 2 at the Elk River American Legion.

The public is welcome and the featured guests will include the Class of 2013, the Class of 2025 (those finishing up kindergarten) and members of the Harley Owners Group that plan to start a ride from the Legion.

The cost of the pancake and sausage breakfast will be a free will donation. All proceeds will go to the Elk River Independence Day fireworks display on July 4 at Lion’s Park.

This year’s Fourth of July celebration will include a performance by the Shane Martin band and an Elk River Idol Contest. There will also be a Gamin’ Trailer, a climbing wall by the Army National Guard, activities at the Elk River  Boys and Girls Club, bingo by the Elk River Rogers VFW and inflatables to include a giant water slide.

Dan Hertsgaard, the retired WCCO radio broadcaster, will be the emcee for this year’s event and there are plans for a program to inlcude the Elk River Honor Guard.
