Softball: Elks top Champlin Park 10-1

Jayme Langbehn socked a triple and homer to lead a 15-hit attack as Elk River beat Champlin Park 10-1 on Thursday in Champlin.

Langbehn was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Austyn Beese was 3-for-5 (two doubles, RBI), Michaela Bruns 2-for-3 (RBI),  Kathi Opsahl 2-for-4, Jess Neuman 2-for-4 (RBI), Sydney Person 2-for-4 (two runs, two RBI), Ali Krohn 1-for-4 (RBI) and Marie Deaton 1-for-1.

Anna Pipenhagen limited the Rebels to two hits while walking none and striking out nine. Rebel starter Cassie Meyer took the loss.

The Elks (14-2), now ranked No. 5 in Class 3A, will close the regular season with a non-conference game Saturday at No. 2 Maple Grove, 1 p.m.
