David Molinari was second individually with 78 as the Zimmerman golfers finished strong in Granite Ridge Conference play Wednesday, placing second in the final meet.
Molinari, a junior, shot 37 and 41 at Wapicada in Sauk Rapids, for second-low score behind Cathedral’s Peter Stethman, who had 77.
St. Cloud Cathedral won with 337 while Zimmerman ad 345 and Little Falls 349.
Zimmerman, in its best GRC meet of the season, also had Max McNulty with 87, Cody Slocum with 87, and Justin Diegnau with 93.
“This should give us some confidence going into our section meet,” said coach Kurran Sagan, referring to on June 3 at Blackberry Ridge in Sartell.
With all five conference meets done, Cathedral finished first, followed by Albany, Becker, Little Falls, Zimmerman, Milaca, Princeton, Mora and Foley.
Labine was conference medalist with 232 strokes.
Molinari tied for fourth with 238 and McNulty was sixth with 242. Also in the top 20 was Slocum, 18th with 254.
