Track: Spectrum girls first, boys 2nd in combined conference meet

The Spectrum girls repeated as champions of a combined  conference track meet Tuesday while the Sting boys placed second among 11 teams.

Schools from the Minnesota Charter School Conference and Minnesota Christian Athletic Association competed in Richfield.

Sarina Staurseth was a triple winner for the Sting, taking the 100 hurdles (16.90), long jump (14-5 1/2) and triple jump (34-10).

Kayla Zimmerman won the 800 run (2:24.62) and 1600 run (5:29.30).

Two girls relay teams won: the 4×200 with Caitlin Diedrich, Amber Siebsen, Noelle Diekman (2:00.88), and Becca Schultz; and the 4×800 with Brenna Waterhouse, Rachel Goldsmith, Yeji Lee, and Noelle Diekman (10:55.26).

Kal Diekman won the triple jump (39-2) and 110 meter hurdles (15.36) for the Sting.
Their other first came in the 4×200 relay with Caleb Rieck, Bryan Pasqual, Scott Cornelius, and Ben Maki (1:43.03).

Conditions were mid-90’s temperature and high winds.
