Tennis: Rogers enjoys first-ever five-match win streak

The Rogers tennis team heads into playoffs on a nice win streak after turning backĀ  St. John’s Prep 7-0 on Friday and Monticello 4-3 on Tuesday.

“It’s been really exciting to have a five-match win streak, something we have not done before,” said coach Nick Scheevel.

The Royals are 5-3 in the Mississippi 8 and 7-8 overall. They are seeded 11th in Section 5AA and will play at No. 6 Champlin Park.

“We lost to them 2-5 last time, but we had two matches that were lost in third set tiebreakers, so this is a winnable match for us,” said Scheevel.

Rogers still has its final conference match on the schedule also, at Big Lake on Friday.
